HELEN (KILCUP) AKER 1926 2014 It is with saddened hearts that we announce the passing of Helen Aker on September 8, 2014 at Fred Douglas Lodge. Helen was born to Rhea and Reginald Kilcup on November 20, 1926 and spent much of her life in St. James where she raised her family. She was predeceased by her husband Robert Dick in 2004, sisters Florence, Allison, Rose and Madge, and her daughter Carol (Aker) Thom earlier this year. Left to cherish her memories are her children Stephen (Margaret) Aker, Linda Aker, Cindy (Allan) Hoover, and Rhea Aker, son-in-law Garry Thom, grandchildren Gerry (Marina) Thom, Richard (Amy) Thom, Tim (Becca) Hoover, Jenny (Pascal) Fillion, 13 great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on September 11 at Cropo Funeral Chapel, 1442 Main St. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her name to DASCH, Inc.
