He leaves his wife of 50 years Helen (Fun Gnik), his son Ray, daughter-in-law Andrea, sister Pai Wan, her husband Joe Yim Cheng and family, brother Kwok Shui and many other family members. Kel was born in the Tai Shan Village of China on January 22, 1935 but spent most of his 79 years in Winnipeg. Kel was a head chef before he retired and he loved to cook food almost as much as he loved to eat it. A funeral service celebrating Kel's life will be held on Monday, September 22, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. in the Coutu Funeral Chapel, 680 Archibald Street with viewing half an hour prior.
