Roger "Bob" was a caring family man and a great educator. His friends were very important to him and he truly appreciated all of their good times together. He especially appreciated their support and visits during his illness. You brought him great comfort. Thank you so much. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the staff of the Palliative Care at St. Boniface Hospital for their attentive and comforting care given to our husband\father. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodière Blvd. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenlawn.ca Glen Lawn Funeral Home 204-982-7550

Condolences & Memories (3 entries)

  • To Lilliane and family. My deepest sympathy. It was with regret that I read of Roger's passing. He was always true to his calling as an educator, mentor and strong supporter of the French language and culture. It was an honour to work with him as a school trustee. Unable to attend service, but keeping the family in my thoughts and prayers. - Posted by: Anita Chapman (School Trustee St. Boniface School Division) on: Sep 22, 2014

  • To Lilliane and family. My sincerest condolences. It has been many years since I last saw Roger but I always thought of him as a friend. He and I worked together for 13 years. He introduced me to the culture of the Saint Boniface School District and gave me wise counsel in so many ways, particularly in the first little while I was there. He mentored a great many educators in the school division, was interested always in making Saint Boniface a school division that welcomed and challenged students, and was, himself, a life long learner. I regret his passing and will fondly remember him. Gerald McConaghy - Posted by: Gerald McConaghy (Friend and colleague) on: Sep 21, 2014

  • Sincere condolences to all of the family. M. Millier was a true intellectual, a dedicated educator, a valued mentor. He set high standards for staff and students alike. However, he also enjoyed those occasional staff golf events at year end, showing great patience for those of us with much less skill and experience. School and golf aside, it was obvious that family was most special to him. His eyes would light up when he spoke of his daughters. I count myself lucky to have experienced M. Millier's influence on my teaching career. - Posted by: Margaret (Former Frontenac staff member) on: Sep 20, 2014
