EVELYN GORDON With great sadness, we announce the passing of our beloved mother and grandmother on Monday, September 29, 2014 at Riverview Health Centre, at the age of 88 years. Evelyn is survived by her children Bill (Tannis), Janet (Lawrence), Ken (Susan), grandchildren Chad, Kristi (Dan), Daniel (Jolene), Spencer (Stephanie) and Emma, and great-grandchildren Christian, Shayla, Sophie and Chelsea. She was born on January 9, 1926 in Leeds, England. She married Dad, a R.C.A.F. Airman and came to Canada as a war bride. Evelyn worked many years at Soo Motorways in the IBM Department. She enjoyed years of camping and winter vacations in Hawaii. Cremation has taken place and a private memorial will be held at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. The family would like to thank the staff on 3West at Riverview Health Centre and all the home care staff who helped her for the compassionate care they provided. To Bill, Janet and Ken, I am writing on behalf of my mom, Hilda Harley. We are very saddened to hear about the loss of your mom. She was always the friend that would stay in touch and keep tabs on my mom, and encourage her to take care of herself. Mom has sent a donation to the CNIB in memory of your mother. Fond memories of a really wonderful woman are with us at this sad time in your life. Bill, Janet, and Ken. I think of your family very often. As children we played together often and I have most pleasant memories. It was great seeing you when Renee died a few years ago.
