I am so sorry to hear the sudden passing of Alex. I had the opportunity to fish next to him for many years at Nutimik lake sharing stories about fishing & hunting. Always looked forward to may long weekend, to find out how his deer & ice fishing season went. He always had lots of great stories to fill me in on. I am very sad to hear about the passing of a great guy and fantastic teammate in Alex. Our best time was when he lead our team to Gold at the Pan American Games an accomplishment not soon to be repeated. Alex was a class act, great shooter and loving husband & father. - Posted by: Kirk Reynolds (Team Mate) on: Oct 15, 2014

It is a sad day losing someone of the quality of Alex, my thoughts and prayers go out to the Gyori family. I had the honour to be team mates with Alex several times over the years representing Canada at major international trapshooting events. While being team mates gives a person unique insights into a person's values and personality, I learned more about Alex when we were competing with each other. Even during intense individual competition his honesty, integrity, and encouragement for the individual to do their best was always paramount. We celebrated many successes and tried to rationalize our failures. Alex then would take the extra step to pass this knowledge along to juniors. I know he took great pride in representing Canada. Alex will be missed by his exended family in the sport that he enjoyed and loved. - Posted by: George Leary (National Team Teammate) on: Oct 14, 2014

May our thoughts and prayers be with Laura, Aaron and Amanda. Any time you need a friend, someone to talk to, go for drive, coffee, whatever, please know that you can call "anytime". As you comprehend this profound loss, let yourself cry, knowing each tear is a note of love rising to the heavens just for Alex. I am so very grateful that I bumped into Alex and Laura recently and had the opportunity for a quick visit. - Posted by: Garry and Arlene Brenner (Co-worker/friends) on: Oct 13, 2014

Alex was more than a friend to me! Our families came to Canada during the Hungarian revolution, Alex was born in October 1958 and myself in February 1959...4 months separated us. Essentially I have known him for all my life! He was more than a friend and more a chosen brother! When I moved from Winnipeg back in 1985 we stayed in touch regularly and we were capable of picking up our conversation where we last off! I look back on all the wonderful times we shared as kids growing ...too, too many stories to tell about what we did and shared! There are not many people than can say they have shared a friendship as long as one has been on the planet! I will miss Alex greatly!!! My deepest sympathies to his family!! - Posted by: Michael Szidorov (Life Long Friend) on: Oct 12, 2014

I grew up with Alex across the street from me. I remember fishing and tubing at Nutimik lake. The crazy neighbourhood parties where as kids we'd stay up watching the adults drink. Years later it turned into Al offering me wine, beer, goose, deer fish. I will miss my Hungarian neighbor. Rest in peace Al. - Posted by: Shawn Desrochers (Neighbor ) on: Oct 11, 2014

My Thoughts are with Alex's family. I am so sorry for your loss. For the last 20 years I stopped in the carpentry shop to have some laughs and vent some frustration every morning. Alex was always there to share in the laughs and listen to my rants. We have all lost a great guy and he will truly be missed. - Posted by: Ryan Lawrence (Co-worker) on: Oct 11, 2014

He is looking down and so proud of you Aaron, Amanda and Laura (can't forget Max and Bear)... Sticking together as a family is the most important thing right now, and you guys are doing a great job of that. I told my mom about the ice fishing stories with Aaron, Alex and Alex's Father...she is going to ask them to show her what it is all about up in heaven now....So much love. xoxox - Posted by: Christine Larter (Friend) on: Oct 11, 2014
