BUNNY (ELIZABETH ANN) HIEBERT September 7, 1944 - October 23, 2014 It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Bunny Hiebert at her residence on October 23, 2014. Bunny is survived by her brother Lorne (Jeanette) Hiebert. She was predeceased by her parents, Abe and Ida and brother Don Hiebert. Bunny spent 28 years working for Scotiabank before retiring in 2006. During her career she held many positions, including mortgage and loan financing and personal investments. She was a dedicated banker with close attention given to details. Her warm smile and caring attitude led to many friendships with coworkers and clients. Gardening, reading, singing and photography were her main hobbies. In retirement she began to take art classes. She was a gifted and talented artist and created many beautiful works of art. Most importantly, Bunny relished spending time with family and friends. She loved her holidays at Brereton Lake with her cousin Sandra; at Falcon Lake camping with her cousin Donna, Aunt Louise and Uncle Jack; and at Victoria Beach with her special friend Susan. Bunny had a special love for her cousins' children, Jeff, Ryan, Chris, Shaun and Lauren; and she will be sadly missed by each of them. She shared a close bond with Aunt Louise who cherished her dear niece. Bunny enjoyed all of her vacation adventures - whether it was trekking across the country camping with her family, enjoying an Alaskan cruise with a friend, or toasting at a Mexican fiesta. She enjoyed her time in sunny Palm Springs last year and was looking forward to returning there again this winter. Beautiful Hawaii was her very favourite vacation spot and she made several trips and many lasting friendships there. An avid Bomber fan, Bunny supported the Club through the good times and bad. For 46 years she attended all home games (and a few grey cups too) with her brother Lorne. An enthusiastic supporter of the Team and friend to all those seated close by. The Bombers have lost a loyal cheering fan and the games will never be the same for Lorne without his sister. Bunny was a very kind, caring and generous daughter, sister, niece, cousin and friend who will be sadly missed. A Memorial Service will be held to celebrate Bunny's life at Seasons Funeral Chapel at 576 Balsam Crescent in Oakbank, MB on Saturday, November 1 at 3:00 p.m. with Maureen McCartney officiating. Prior to this service at 1:30 p.m., interment in Family Plot at Millbrook Cemetery In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba. www.seasonsfunerals.ca

Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • I only just heard of Bunny's passing today. To Lorne and family my deepest sympathy. I didn't know Bunny well, only from the Bomber games, but she was always very pleasant. My thoughts are with you. - Posted by: Penny Hayes (Fellow Bomber season ticket holder. ) on: Apr 23, 2015

  • So sad to hear about Bunny - how she loved Victoria Beach, Siren and her good friend Susan. Bunny & I spent a lovely afternoon together in Hawaii painting turtles - I still have my painting and one Bunny sent me. I know how much Susan & Siren will miss Auntie Bunny - so sad! - Posted by: Pat Purdy (friend) on: Oct 29, 2014

  • My sincerest condolences, Lorne and families, on the passing of Bunny. I grew up across the back lane from your house and remember your family well. I, too, lost both my parents last year and it is such a life changing experience. My thoughts and prayers are with you, may you hold her memories dear and never, ever, forget. Sincere best wishes. - Posted by: Leslie Sebastian Hardy (Neighbour long ago) on: Oct 29, 2014

  • My thoughts and prayers to the family....I was over talking with Bunny and Lorne a couple Bomber games ago catching up as we didn't sit in the same section since moving to the new stadium. She was always very friendly and had a smile on her face. We will miss her at the games, but know she will still be cheering the team on. - Posted by: Laurie Fotty (Bomber season ticket holder) on: Oct 29, 2014
