ANDREW WERNER REIMER July 21, 1946 - January 8, 2015 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Andy on January 8, 2015 at St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 68. Andy will be sadly missed by his children, Derrick, Kenny (Jordan), Ryan (Janelle), Justin (Rebecca), Jordan, and grandchildren Hannah and Lucas. He is survived by his brothers Bill, Ben, and Norman (Myrna) and sisters Mary, Liz (Orest), and Lydia (Wilbert). Andy was predeceased by his parents Peter and Aganetha Reimer, and siblings Johnny, Eva, Harry, Ruben and Vern. Andy was one of twelve siblings, he was born in Steinbach and grew up in Blumenort, Manitoba on his family's farm. After leaving the farm at a young age he traveled around doing various jobs in Northern Canada and USA. He eventually settled in Winnipeg where he started a family and began working for Manitoba Hydro. Andy was generous and known for his quiet, calm and kind demeanour and for his hard work ethic. He worked for Manitoba Hydro for over 35 years and even his illness couldn't force him to retire. Andy was always willing to lend a helping hand to family, friends, and coworkers. Andy will be remembered for having a creative passion for hands-on work, building and repairing just about anything; and for his hobby of gardening. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on January 16, 2015 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Reception to immediately follow. The family wishes to express their deepest gratitude to the doctors, nurses and support staff at St. Boniface Hospital for the kind and compassionate care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to ALS Society of Canada or a charity of your choice. Condolences & Memories (6 entries)

  • Andy was a great man and he will be truly missed and will always be remembered. I have a lot of very fond memories of him. Losing someone we love is not easy but knowing that we have been able to be a part of Andy's life we can realize that we are blessed to have known him. When we lose a loved one on earth we gain an angel in heaven that watches over us. I hope you boys take comfort in knowing that you have an angel to watch over you now. After the tears have dried and the goodbyes have been said, all we have to hold onto are all the happy memories that we shared with Andy and keep them alive in our hearts and in our minds and he will continue to live on through us. His kind face remains forever in our image. May the love of family and the support from friends help you through the journey ahead. My sincere condolences to you Boys and his Brothers and Sisters - Posted by: Irene CurĂ© (Ex ) on: Jan 14, 2015

  • Andy has always been a kind and sharing friend since we met 23 years ago. He has helped me to repair and build countless things. He always gave his time and knowledge freely. He even picked me up and dropped me off for work when my car was out of order. I cannot thank him enough. My condolences to the family. So sad to have him pass. - Posted by: Michael Coyston (co-worker) on: Jan 13, 2015
