Dear Janice & Dennis, my heart goes out to you both at this time. I was shocked to hear just today, your dad had passed away, as I wasn't aware he was sick. I remember the last day I saw you jogging down Westwood, Janice, and you told me he was married and moved out of this area. I'm glad he found someone to love & care for him, as everyone says: he was a nice, gentle man & good friend. Take care of each other, all of you. Jean and all of the families. We did not have the opportunity to get to know Tom real well, but our time spent with him was always very enjoyable. He was much loved by all the families. Jean, We are so sorry that we are away and unable to be with you at this time. Tom was such a great guy and we always enjoyed spending time with both of you. We didn't realize when we had lunch with you and Tom that it would be the last time but it was such a happy time that we are glad that it is our final memory of him. - Posted by: Jim and Rose () on: Jan 18, 2015

To the Geekie family past and present. I am sorry to hear of your loss. I worked with Tom for 10 years before I moved on to Edmonton. I then had the privilege of working with him again on CFL games and it was always a pleasure. He was real easy to work with and was always a gentleman with a friendly smile. He will be missed. - Posted by: Bob McQuay (Friend) on: Jan 17, 2015

Just wanted to let the family know that you are both in our thoughts and prayers. We celebrate Tom even though we are not with you. He was a man that loved and honored his family every day of his life. He has passed on to the next generation the value of love, laughter and loyalty to the people he loved. Tomorrow will be a difficult day, but we trust that our heavenly Father will make Himself real to you all during this time when you need Him the most. Love you Dennis, Gail, Janice and family. I knew Tom only briefly. He was a man that made a positive impression and contribution very quickly, and to all around him, never playing favorites. He had a great smile and generosity. The world was blessed by his spirit. Heartfelt condolences to the family. - Posted by: Kathy Mestery (Friend) on: Jan 15, 2015

The world was a better place with Tom in it. A handsome, caring, energetic, compassionate human being - always time to listen to my stories and Tom to share his stories particularly from his CBC days. Jean, Tom and I had our weekly Friday night "story times" over our "glass" of wine which will never be forgotten and very much appreciated. This tradition will continue and Tom will be with us in spirit always. - Posted by: Regina Angeleau (friend) on: Jan 15, 2015

"One of the good guys": Murray Parker said it best. I truly loved working with Tom, chatting with Tom, and just knowing that he was part of the team. A kind, gentle man who always seemed happy, relaxed even when things got stressful, and always willing to help in any way possible. It was a pleasure working with him and getting to know him as the years unfolded. Rest in peace, Tom - you will always be remembered by your television colleagues. - Posted by: Ms Frankie Glickman, Victoria (CBC colleague) on: Jan 14, 2015

I worked with Tom in the early 60's and although I haven't met him since, I am sure he remained the "gentleman" he was then. Rest in peace. - Posted by: Leonard Gratton (Friend and co-worker) on: Jan 14, 2015

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. I remember Tom as "one of the good guys" of CBC. That means much more than it sounds and other former CBC people will know how much it says. I don't remember him ever having anything other than a smile on his face as though he had just heard a good joke 2 minutes earlier and was still chuckling. Many of us share your grief. - Posted by: Murray Parker (CBC retiree) on: Jan 14, 2015

My deepest sympathy to Jean and the entire family. May your memories of Tom comfort you. A true gentleman who has left us way too soon. I'll always remember Tom's great tasting wine and the times when he and Jean invited me over for fantastic fried pickerel dinners and Tom's raisin pie. Thanks for all the fun times, rest in peace Tom. - Posted by: Vicky Waskul (Friend) on: Jan 14, 2015

Dear Jean, Janice, Dennis and Gail: You know how much the death of Tom means to me. He was and will always be a very dear friend with whom Jim and I have had wonderful times over many years.
