YVONNE PRIVE (née PELLETIER) December 29, 1940 - January 23, 2015 After a brief illness Yvonne Privé, aged 74, passed away peacefully at Victoria Hospital on January 23, 2015. She is survived by her beloved husband of 50 years, Clément, her children, Ronald (MaryAnn), Roger and Rachelle (Dave Moroz), as well as her precious grandchildren, Dylan, Devan, Madyson, Logan, Miranda, Kennedy, Dannica and Jesse. Also left to cherish her memory are her brothers, Marcel (Tannis), Edmond (Grace), her sister Diane (Richard Bernier), sisters-in-law Denise and Lorraine, the Privé family, as well as many close friends (Friday evenings will never be the same!). She was predeceased by her parents, Alexandre and Simone Pelletier, and her brothers, Ovide and Roger. Yvonne was raised in Saint-Boniface where she attended Ecole Précieux-Sang. She met Clément in 1961 and they married in 1964. In the early years of their marriage, because of Clément's work, they lived in various cities across Canada, as well as in Clinton, Iowa, USA. In 1972, they settled in Saint-Norbert and there they raised their family and became an integral part of the community. Yvonne was always ready to serve on any committee that needed her help. She worked for Assiniboine Credit Union for many years where she made many lifelong friends. After retirement she returned to her role of homemaker. She loved to cook, especially to share with her children and friends. She had a natural talent with gardening and her flowers, both inside and outside, were beautiful. Her green thumb helped to produce many delicious vegetables that she also loved to share. How she cherished time spent with friends and family at special gatherings, family reunions, camping and travelling (especially to Yuma, Arizona for the winter months). But becoming a grandmother was her greatest joy. Her love easily crossed the generations as her grandchildren loved her completely and she had precious relationships with each and every one. The family would like to thank Cathy at CancerCare and staff at Victoria Hospital for the care provided. Farewell mom, memère, aunt, cousin, sister, friend - you will be missed! We love you. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, January 30, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. at St. Norbert Catholic Church, 70 St. Pierre Street with Father Roland Lanoie presiding. Reception to follow at St. Norbert Parish Hall. A private family interment will take place at a later date at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Yvonne's memory to CancerCare Manitoba, 675 McDermot Avenue, Winnipeg, MB R3E 0V9 or the charity of your choice. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenlawn.ca Glen Lawn Funeral Home 204-982-7550

I have never met Yvonne and haven't seen Clement for very many years but want to offer my condolences on the loss of your wife, mother and grandmother. Yvonne was a very good friend to me when I first started going to Yuma with Treff. She was a very close friend of Treff's wife, and when I went to Yuma for the first time, she gave me such a welcome and made sure that I was happy there. I will never forget her welcome, she was a wonderful person. Always happy, helpful, loving and so on. We will miss her. - Posted by: denise gareau (friend) on: Jan 27, 2015

I am very sorry to hear of Yvonne's passing thoughts and prayers to the Prive family. I am sorry I will not be able to attend the service but will cherish many fond memories of Christmas Eve's with Yvonne's toutiere and playing games in the basement, as well as visits to their summer cabin to go tubing down the river. I feel very fortunate and am grateful for the visit I had of Yvonne and Clement coming to Thunder Bay with my grandparents sharing meals and stories. Thinking of you all, Love Ginette - Posted by: Ginette Antoniak () on: Jan 27, 2015
