JOYCE MEDWID With broken hearts we announce the passing of our mother, nana, daughter, sister, auntie and friend. On January 29, 2015 with her oldest daughter by her side, she started her new journey. Respecting her wishes, there will not be a funeral service. Cremation took place Sunday, February 1, 2015. She leaves behind, her mother, Anne Medwid of Brandon, sister Helen of Brandon, daughter Shawna and husband Scottie and grandkids Faith and Macy, daughter Michelle and husband Steven and grandkids Mathew, Joey, Heather as well as her longtime family friend Shirlee and daughter Joleen. Joyce did several years of fostering children in her early years and worked at Fairlane Meadows for the last nine years doing what she enjoyed most, cleaning. Mom loved her family especially her grandkids. They have many great memories with their wonderful Nana. A very special thanks goes out to Dr. Gingerich and nurse Simone for all the late night calls and quick decisions. Also a big thank you goes out to the nurses and staff on the palliative care unit of St. Boniface Hospital. Mom you will never be forgotten.
