MELVIN CADORATH 1929 2015 On Thursday, February 5, 2015, surrounded by his loving family, Mel passed away peacefully at the age of 85. His memory will be cherished by his wife of 60 years, Jeannine and their three children Rick (Thea), Kathy (Udo Bedarf) and David, grandchildren Sandra (Jason), Jessica, Krystin (Tyler), Jackie (Keith), Jeffrey, Aimee and great-grandson Aiden. He will also be remembered by his brother Gerry (Judy), brothers-in-law Eduard, Art (Jean), sisters-in-law Annette, Huguette and Glenda and many nephews and nieces. Mel was predeceased by his parents John and Aurora and his sister Jeanine Jette. Dad was born July 26, 1929 in Somerset, MB. His family moved to Winnipeg when he was very young. Dad started work at MTS in 1951. He met the love of his life Jeannine, and they were married August 21, 1954. In 1958 they moved to Transcona and raised their family. Many years were spent building his dream cottage at Caddy Lake. After 33 years at MTS, he retired in Mesa, Arizona. Together he and mom enjoyed traveling to Hawaii and Barbados. Dad loved his garden in Transcona where he won horticultural awards for his picturesque back yard. He had enjoyed many interests including music, old movies and time spent with family and friends. Service will be held Wednesday, February 11, 2015, 2:00 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home at 455 Lagimodiere Blvd, Winnipeg, MB. A private family interment will be held be at a later date. Special thanks to Dr. Glen Drobot and the Staff on A6 at St. Boniface Hospital and a special thanks to Jordan his home care worker.   • I met Mel at the Pembina Exchange when I was a Central Officeman with MTS. Mel was the PBX manager working out of the Pembina Exchange. I will always remember Mel for his sense of humour and being the best dressed telephone guy in the building.
