MARY KESLER It is with deep sadness, but with wonderful memories, we announce the passing of our mom, grandma, great-grandma, sister, aunt and friend on Thursday, February 5, 2015, at the age of 85, at the Selkirk General Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Mary will be greatly missed by her children Carol Bilinski, Mervin, Sharon McManus, Murray (Gay) and family, Ferlin, Rod (Kathy), Gale (Alex Prosak), Sally (Leon Fontaine); her grandchildren Tanya, Donald, Randall, Kaitlin, Jared, Heather, Paula (Paul), Chris, Eden, Danielle (David), Tamara (Jeremy), Michala, and Zach; her great-grandchildren Matthew, MacKenzie, and Sloane; and her siblings Peter (Angie), Sarah (George), and Eva. Predeceased by her husband David Kesler; son-in-law Myles McManus; parents Henry and Maria Loewen; and 12 siblings. Mary was born in Hague, SK, on January 24, 1930, where she was raised on the family farm until 1945 at which time the family moved to Manitoba. Mom met the love of her life, David Kesler, in Clarkleigh, MB, whom she later married on October 8, 1949. They settled with their family in Selkirk, MB. Mom worked at Selkirk Mental Health Centre and transferred to Selkirk Linen Services, where she remained until she retired. Mom was a woman of great strength; she was compassionate, witty, incredibly hospitable, and an amazing cook. She always went to great lengths to help others in need and spent many hours doing volunteer work. She was a firecracker with a great sense of humour and an infectious smile. Home would come alive with fun and laughter when family and friends would gather. There was a special place in her heart for her grandchildren and she always looked forward to their visits. Mom had an unshakable faith in Christ and left an amazing legacy of strength and love. In lieu of flowers, if so desired, donations may be made in her memory to Our Daily Bread Soup Kitchen, Box 123 Stn. Main, Selkirk, MB R1A 2B1. Funeral service will be held at Springs Church, 595 Lagimodiere Blvd., Winnipeg, MB on Saturday, February 14 at 11:00 a.m. with viewing at 10:30 a.m. All family welcome for 10:00 a.m. viewing. • To the Kesler family my condolences on the loss of your Mum. Having lost my own just this past September, I do understand how difficult this time is for all of you. My thoughts and prayers are with you. You were so blessed to have had your Mum in your lives for such a long time. She is with her Dave now, and with God. • To the Kesler family so sorry for your loss. I have many fond memories from my childhood at the Kesler family home. Mary and Dave were always happy to see us neighborhood kids. Although I haven't been around for some years I will always have the great memories of homemade butter, cream, and food! May Mary rest in peace and my prayers to the family. - Posted by: Barb Reimer (Dutka) (Family friend ) on: Feb 11, 2015
