Date of Passing: Feb 22, 2015
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryMILDRED MARY ANDERSON (MILLIE) On February 22, 2015 Millie passed away at the Charleswood Care Home at the age of 85. She was born June 18, in Carman, married Eddie Anderson and resided in Winnipeg. Ed passed away in 1977. They had three children, Diane (who passed away in 1996), Donald (Jeannette) and Louise (Dan) Blom. She has four grandchildren, Khi Putt, Annika Putt, Nathan (Jennalee) Anderson and Noah Anderson, special nephew Garth Jr. She is survived by four brothers Ernie (Barbra), Garth (Abbie), Fred (Carol) and Brian (Judy), and many nieces and nephews. Mom was a very active lady and loved to socialize. She was active in the Church. She volunteered at Victoria General Hospital, Census and with the Riverside Lions Club (where she lived for 10 years on Worthington). She loved her 5 pin bowling league, lawn bowling, cards, bus trips to casinos with friends and many other activities. She never turned down an opportunity to go out, whether it was for dinner or shopping or to visit someone. When you visited her it was never long enough, her favourite saying, "come back when you can stay longer". She loved taking care of people, making soup for someone sick or just a visit, she was a care giver. We would like to thank all those friends and family who visited our mom and spent time with her in the hospital and at Charleswood. We would also like to thank the staff at Concordia Hospital and Charleswood Home. A Service will be held at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 5, 2015 in Winnipeg at Beautiful Saviour Lutheran Church, 1541 St. Mary's Road. Interment will follow at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Beautiful Saviour Lutheran Church; Victoria General Hospital or a charity of your choice.
