ANITA LAPLUME (nee KRUEGER) It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Anita LaPlume on Sunday, March 1, 2015 at Saint Boniface Hospital at the age 69 years old after a long battle with cancer. Mom will be missed by her long time husband and life partner of 51 years Roger LaPlume Sr. as well as his daughter Angie Stephenson (Ray), sons Roger LaPlume Jr. (Cindy), Randy LaPlume (Diane), five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Mom was born in Germany on June 28, 1945 and immigrated to Canada in 1952 where the family was sponsored to a farm in Steinbach, Manitoba. After a number of years the family made their way back to Winnipeg to live in the North End of Winnipeg on Luxton Street. Mom was predeceased by her mom in 2014, step-father in 1988 and step-brother Paul Jedic in 1978. Mom was a great homemaker and she worked for 17 years at Eaton's store in the basement meat deli counter until the closing in 2002. She then went on to run her own successful home base business. Mom loved flowers, cooking, family dinners, spending summers at the family cottage in West Hawk Lake and day trips to South Beach Casino. Mom and dad spent the last 15 years on month long winter vacations in Mesa, Arizona, Las Vegas, Nevada, Texas and Disney World, Florida. A special thanks to Brian and Paulette Decka for all their care and compassion with mom and the LaPlume family in their time of need. Thanks to the nurses staff at Saint Boniface Hospital, 8th floor for making mom's last days very peaceful. I KNOW SHE IS BOUND FOR HEAVEN, SHE HAS DONE THE TIME IN HELL. A Celebration of Anita's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Interment will follow at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenlawn.ca Glen Lawn Funeral Home 204-982-7550

We will miss you Anita; we will miss all the fun times we had together at the lake - the cocktails hrs, the late evening get togethers and wild and wonderful boat rides. Rest in peace now Anita. - Posted by: Pat & Pierre Chevrier (neighbours and friends) on: Mar 09, 2015

Roger and Anita have been our friends for close to 45 years, we watched each other's children grow and mature into adults. The one thing I will always remember best about Anita, is that she always set a very beautiful table for dinner. We always enjoyed visiting each other and "dinnering" back and forth. It was very difficult to see her health deteriorate so quickly from January to March 1 and very heartbreaking. Anita left behind a beautiful family. You were all lucky and very blessed to have her in your lives. Roger, God bless you with the strength to go on and heal your broken heart. Buddy, Randy and Angie, take good care of your Father. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all. Kathy & Bill - Posted by: Kathy & Bill Fecio (Long time friends of the family) on: Mar 07, 2015
