Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryJOAN MARY TANNER (nee VILE) Peacefully, surrounded by family, Joan passed away on Friday, February 27, 2015 at the age of 84. Joan was predeceased by her beloved husband Laurence in 2010. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters Cynthia (Rick) van Driel, Lori (Glen) Lucier; her grandchildren Evan and Stephanie (Josh Register), Elizabeth and Madeline, as well as extended family in Kenora, Ontario, St. Louis, Missouri, and Goodyear, Arizona. Joan was born and raised in Devon, England, where she earned her nursing degree. She moved to Kenora, Ontario and married Laurence in 1956. They later moved to Winnipeg where she worked at the Health Sciences Centre in the Blood and I.V. Dept. Since retirement she enjoyed time at the lake, travel, and many volunteer opportunities, including reading with students at Samuel Burland School. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, March 20, 2015 at St. Saviours Anglican Church, Monroe at Grey Street. Flowers are respectfully declined. Hello Lori and Cynthia: My Father, Jim Hill,Thorndale, Ontario and your mother were cousins. We are sorry to hear of the death of your mother. We had kept in contact until about 3 years ago, just after her trip back to the UK.
