KAREN KATHLEEN KLIMCHUK January 30, 1960 - March 10, 2015 Surrounded by family, it is with very heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear Karen, on March 10, 2015 at St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 55, after a courageous battle with ovarian cancer. She was predeceased by her parents, Elizabeth and Peter, her sister Helen and father-in-law John Lenius. She will be sorely missed and lovingly remembered by her husband Allan Lenius and her sons Jason and Derrick; brothers Walt (Marie), Ed (Nancy), Carl; sisters Kathy, Julie (Randy); sister-in-law Anne; brother-in-law Brian (Maralyn); former sister-in-law Dianne; and many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews (too many to name). She will also be missed by her best friend Kim Smith, and the gang out in Ontario, along with many friends in Winnipeg. Karen was raised in Wilsonville, Ontario. She was the youngest of all her siblings. She had a great love for animals, riding horses and playing with the kittens and dogs as a little girl (her favourite being Chihuahuas)! This love continued on when she moved to Winnipeg where she seemed to have adopted squirrels, rabbits, and birds, all of whom she had names for, but Karen's biggest smiles were when she was feeding and petting the deer...that's when she was at peace. When she met Al, music became a part of her life and not just listening, but actually singing (Karaoke). Karen worked at Canadian Tire (Parts Dept.) and Central Office Recycling, where long-time friendships were formed with Marita and Tracy. Karen finally got her dream job managing Wayne Johnston Autobody Shop (Dugald, MB), which she dearly took to heart until her untimely illness. She truly missed the guys and customers she served and loved the country feeling working there. Karen's greatest love though, was her family.they were most important to her, as she was always so concerned about everyone else. The family would like to thank the team of doctors, nurses (in particular, Mare and Michelle) at CancerCare Manitoba at St. Boniface Hospital, for your understanding care and support. Thank you also Leslie (Spiritual Advisor) for the support and comfort you provided to Karen and our family. Finally, we would like to also thank the outstanding nursing staff at A6 West, (Louise, Alix and the entire staff) for making Karen's stay that much more comfortable. Your compassion and understanding will never be forgotten. Cremation has taken place and as per Karen's wishes, a graveside service will be held at Sunnyside Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 16, 2015. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Salvation Army or Siloam Mission. God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be So he put his arms around you and whispered "Come With Me." With tearful eyes I watched you, slowly fade away, Although I loved you dearly, I would not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, hard working hands at rest. God broke my heart to prove to me, He only takes the best. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenlawn.ca Glen Lawn Funeral Home 204-982-7550
