MARY GAIL ALLARD (nee JOHNS) It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Mary, on March 8, 2015 in Winnipeg, at the age of 72 years. She was predeceased by her mother Winnie, father Walter, step-mother Dorothy and her beloved Ernie in 1975. Mary will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her daughter Debra, son-in-law Craig and granddaughters Miranda and Kendra. Her brother David and cousins Sandy and Bryan will also miss her dearly. Close siblings of her husband Ernie include Julie, Denise, Elaine and Victor who all remained a huge part of her life as well as many nieces and nephews who will mourn her passing greatly. Mary was born on May 7, 1942 in Winnipeg to Walter and Winne. After the unfortunate passing of her mother, Walter remarried to Dorothy who later gave her a brother, David. She enjoyed fun times on the water with their boat and her life in Wildwood Park as a young girl. This was her home until she met and married Ernie and moved to Fort Richmond. Debby was born in 1964. Mary was a loving, caring mom with an interest in the community while living on Silverstone Avenue for many years. She worked at the University College and U of M Centre in Food Services, having spent time as a supervisor in the University College. She lost Ernie after only 12 years of marriage but managed to make a comfortable home while continuing to work. Thirty-seven and a half years working produced many friends from the University of Manitoba which we know she held dear, even after retirement in 2011. She will be truly missed by everyone who's life she touched. A celebration of Mary's life will be held on at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 16, 2015 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd., Winnipeg, Manitoba R2J 4J4. If friends wish to honour her memory and share in her love and desire to help animals, donations can be made to Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3T 0R3. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenlawn.ca Glen Lawn Funeral Home 204-982-7550

Was very sad to hear the news of Mary's passing. I knew Mary from her time at the U of M and I don't think I have ever worked with a sweeter person. I always looked forward to our visits when I was over to Pembina Hall and that great smile. My thoughts and prayers are with her family at this time! - Posted by: Clark Cunningham (Co-worker) on: Mar 16, 2015

Mary and I shared many a laugh together when we both worked at the University of Manitoba. She always teased me when there were 800 or more bag lunches to be made for conference groups. Our relationship was unique, as I live in the house where she once lived. May she rest in peace. My deepest condolences to her family.
