  • I was sorry to hear of Jim's passing. He was a connection to the only grandmother Penner I knew. Dad always spoke warmly of his brother Jim. My condolences to the family, may God comfort each one. Elroy - Posted by: Elroy Penner (Martin Penner's son) on: Mar 24, 2015

  • Jim (Jimbo) was a big part of my life growing up. He was a very gentle man. I will cherish the memories of Jim and Florence and the time our families spent together at Chalet Beach. My condolences to Gail and Bruce for their loss. - Posted by: Sandra and Len Connolly (Friend) on: Mar 20, 2015

  • Our love and sympathy is extended to you, my cousins, Gail & Bruce & your families. When Stan & I think of Uncle Jim, we both have memories of a gentleman with a loving heart. My favorite memories are of the trip that my dad, Art, & I made to visit my Grandmother Barbara, & Uncle Jim & Auntie Flo, Gail & Bruce, Uncle John & aunt Eileen, our older cousins, Don & Joyce, Cliff & Dorothy, & all the Penners that took us in as family. I still can't understand why I had the privilege to travel with my dad at such a young age! I celebrated my 10th birthday at Uncle Jim's cabin. I felt so very honored! Aunt Flo took me shopping at Eatons & Hudson Bay which was a highlight! All the delicious farmers sausage & cheese that was so fresh it still squeeked, still makes my mouth water as I think of it. My heart is saddened as I think of my Dad's last sibling passing. My parents, Art & Lucille, both passed away in 2002. It is difficult to say goodbye. Praying that God will hold you close, in your lonely hours. If life ever brings you to the Carolinas, we would welcome you to our home & restaurant, The Rivers Edge, in Cheraw, South Carolina. We are very sorry that it has not been possible for us to come for the service and properly express our sympathy. - Posted by: stan & cindy (friesen) koehn (art friesens daughter, uncle jim's niece) on: Mar 19, 2015

  • I have many fond memories of spending time at your house with Auntie Flo. We had many laughs playing cards and I will always remember my time with you. Rest in peace. My condolences to Bruce and Gail. - Posted by: Jennifer Mandzie (Niece) on: Mar 18, 2015
