ANGELINA GUFFEI (nee BIONDI) January 13, 1931 - March 16, 2015 It is with great sadness and sorrow that our family says goodbye to our dear mother, Angelina Guffei. Angelina passed away peacefully with her loved ones by her side on Monday, March 16, 2015 at the age of 84 years. Wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, great-aunt and sister-in-law. Angelina was born in Castelpetroso, Italy on January 13, 1931. She was the second oldest of four children and the lone daughter. Immigrated to Canada in 1956 to be with her husband Nicola, to start a new and prosperous life for her family. Nicola and Angelina made Winnipeg their home for the rest of their lives. Not only being a mother to her children she also took over the role of mother for her immigrated brothers. At times, we were a handful but she loved and cared for us all. Besides the love for her family, she loved to cook and feed anyone who came to visit, loved her garden (which was her whole backyard), loved flowers and to socialize. She leaves us many cherished memories of her love and generosity. We will miss her deeply. Waiting for Angelina in heaven are her husband Nicola, her parents Giovanna and Nicola Biondi, her brothers Giuseppe Biondi and Carmine (Gina) Biondi, and many of Nicola's family. Angelina loved and left behind her son Luciano Guffei, her daughter Anna (Juan) Gabriele, brother Guido (Janice) Biondi, sisters-in-law Evelina Biondi and Olympia Guffei, grandchildren Nicholas (Bobbi-Jo) Guffei, Amanda (Dr. Christiaan) Righolt, Ashley Guffei, Jeffrey Gabriele and Jennifer Gabriele, great-grandchildren Hailey-Jo, Luca and Ryker, and great-nephew and niece Matteo and Chiara Wilson. Angelina also leaves many cousins, nieces and nephews including Joanna Biondi, Laureen and Dr. Greg Wilson, Maria Leydon, Anthony Biondi, Rosalba Forte and Claudio Biondi, all holding a special place in her heart. The family wishes to thank Dr. Greg Wilson for his guidance and explanations of medical terminology through her ordeal and also in helping to make her final days non-disruptive, and the staff and doctors of Emergency and 5th Floor Unit 1 of Seven Oaks Hospital. Pallbearers will be Nicolas Guffei, Jeffrey Gabriele, Dr. Greg Wilson, Dr. Christiaan Righolt, Angelo DeFrancesco and Romeo Guffei. Honorary pallbearers are Guido Biondi and John DeFrancesco. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 23, 2015 at 1:30 p.m. at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 510 River Ave., with Rev. Father Sam Argenziano celebrant. During the season of Lent flowers cannot remain in the Church. For those who wish, viewing and offering condolences will be held one hour prior to the funeral mass. Entombment will follow in Queen of Heaven Mausoleum Assumption Cemetery, 3990 Portage Avenue "We will forever miss you, Your kind heart and loving eyes, We love you Mom" "Vai con Dio Angelina" For online condolences or to light a memorial candle please log onto www.mosaicfunerals.ca 1839 Inkster Blvd. 1006 Nairn Ave. 204-275-5555

  • My thoughts and prayers are with you, Luciano and Anna, at this time. I fondly remember your Mom and her large garden. She always had a smile on her face, and would always stop to say hello as she passed by the house. I know you will have wonderful memories of both of your parents. Cherish them. - Posted by: Pam Green (Former neighbour) on: Mar 24, 2015

  • Anna & Luci: My heartfelt condolences to you and your families. Your Mom was a wonderful person & I know she will be missed. I remember her quiet nature, great smile, her love for Italian music that played in your living room - especially on Saturday mornings, the care of & pride in her huge gardens and best of all her amazing cooking. I still love spaghetti & meat sauce to this very day. Through the years I would see your Mom in various places downtown while shopping. She always had a warm smile and came over to talk with me. You are all in my thoughts & prayers. Debbie Ledoux (nee Greening) from Home Street - Posted by: Debbie Ledoux (nee Greening) (Friend) on: Mar 22, 2015
