Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryDAVID WALKER WATTERS SCOTT December 24, 1920 - March 12, 2015 It is with sadness that the family announces the unexpected passing of David, at the age of 94 years, on Thursday, March 12, 2015 at Victoria General Hospital. David was predeceased by his first wife Joan (June 15, 1994) and daughter Betty. He is survived by his second wife Marie, son Murray (Sandy), their children Raegan and Rachel, stepson Jim Hadfield (Mary) and their children Darryl (Beth) and Jacqui. He was also predeceased by his brother Robert John (Bob) in 2010, and sister Helen in 1993. David was born in Winnipeg and grew up in West Kildonan. He joined the Canadian Air Force after high school and then followed with a long career at Shell Canada until retirement. David loved gardening, and it was extremely evident when you visited his huge yard at 774 Bonner Avenue. The garden and flower beds were always well cared for and in full bloom as a result of his long hours spent outdoors nurturing them. His friendly smile, amusing stories and easy-going manner will be missed by everyone that knew and associated with him. Thankfully, David passed peacefully and without lengthy illness. A celebration of David's life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 27, 2015 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Pastor Mike Thom of Willowlake Baptist Church will conduct the service with refreshments to follow. Cremation will take place and an interment will follow privately at a later date. The family wishes to thank the staff at Seine River Seniors Residence for their kindness and care of David in his last days, as well as the staff at Victoria General Hospital. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in memory of David to Faith Bible Camp at Victoria Beach, Manitoba. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenlawn.ca Glen Lawn Funeral Home 204-982-7550

Uncle Dave was my Dad's (Gaston Marmounier) good friend and neighbour when they grew up in Winnioeg. They were 10 months apart in age. In the 1940s they were each other's best man at their weddings. Dave and Joan and my parents stayed in touch and visited one another through the years even though they lived far apart. After Joan died, Dave began seeing my Dad's youngest sister who had been widowed a few years earlier when in her early sixties. They got engaged and married in 1995 and once again, my Dad was Dave's best man. I flew to Winnipeg from Vancouver to attend the happy occasion. What a special memory that was! It was one of the hottest June days ever - over 40 degrees. We "roasted" at the church even though many fans were running. The family dinner at a lovely reception venue had air conditioning, fortunately. So, my Dad became his boyhood friend's brother-in-law and Dave became my uncle. I am glad that God brought him into our family and that my aunt had almost twenty years of happiness with him. He was a fine, gentle man and a good husband to her. I last saw him at my Dad's funeral in Thunder Bay in June 2010. He was an honorary pallbearer for his lifelong friend. I am sad that Uncle Dave is gone but glad that when his time had come, he went quickly without a long hospitalization. Sending much love to my aunt who will miss him dearly. Praying for comfort and peace. - Beverley - Posted by: Beverley Marmounier Johnston, Surrey BC (Niece ) on: Mar 28, 2015
