GREG ALLAN POSCHADEL
Date of Passing: Mar 22, 2015
Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGREG ALLAN POSCHADEL Peacefully on Sunday, March 22, 2015, after one last beautiful sunrise, and a day spent surrounded by the love of his family and friends, Greg passed away at the Grace Hospice at the age of 41 years. Left to forever cherish his memory are his son Parker; daughter Hannah, and their mom, Gillian; his father Guenter and spouse Rose Poschadel; sister Christine and brother-in-law Gordon McKenzie. Greg will be sadly missed by his many friends, nephews and nieces, and other relatives. Greg was predeceased by his mother Marian Poschadel in 1995. A very proud and loving father, his kids came first in his life, and he loved doing dad' things with them. An avid fisherman, he spent much of his spare time with Parker chasing that evasive walleye or muskie. He loved football, cheering for the Bombers and Vikings; making an annual trip with his son to see a game in Minneapolis. Each summer, he loved the time he was able to spend with family at the lake, taking the kids out for slurpees or ice cream, or having fun at the pool. He was lucky to have also loved his work, and his many friends and colleagues at B/E Aerospace were amazingly kind and supportive throughout his journey. The family would like to thank all the wonderful, caring staff at the Grace Hospice, the compassion shown by everyone at Palliative Care, the support of home care and his doctors and nurses at CancerCare, the kind staff at E.J. Coutu, as well as a special thanks to the Never Alone Foundation for the fishing trip of a lifetime. To all of you who have kept us in your thoughts and prayers, every kindness is, was, and will always be, deeply appreciated. A memorial service in memory of Greg will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 9 at the Neil Bardal Funeral Centre, 3030 Notre Dame Ave., across from Brookside Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to a charity of your choice to further cancer research, support hospice care, Never Alone, or others dedicated to making children's lives happier.

Greg was nice to everybody, no matter how unpopular they were, he was exuberant and friendly to everyone. I was in grade 5 with him at Oakenwald school and he was a lot of fun, and then we hung around for a few years after, his house was on my way home from the pool so I would have chance encounters with him after elementary school ended, and he was one friendly and courteous guy. I am glad that he was such a good father and able to fit in so much joy into his foreshortened life, not everyone gets to have so many blessings. I am sorry for your loss. Children without their father, a wife without her husband, parents without their son. Friends and family witnessing his decline, there is likely little comfort in my words to you, but thank you for letting me remember him here. I actually remember him vividly from childhood. a very nice young person. lots of funny memories come to mind about Greg. An unforgettable person. - Posted by: Jeannine DesRoches (School friend) on: Jan 20, 2017

Mr. Poschadel and Christine I'm sorry to hear about the passing of Greg. I remember Greg putting up with a younger kid for a few summers and helping create many pleasant memories. Losing someone you love is never easy however seeing someone freed from an illness such as this can hopefully provide some comfort. We were so saddened to hear the news of dear Greg. He sounds like a wonderful person and father. We regret that we won't be able to attend his funeral on April 9th as we don't arrive home from Mexico until April 20th. Guenter & Christine, our hearts go out to you and your family at this very difficult time. You're in our thoughts and prayers. We were so sorry to hear, just today, of Greg's passing. We suspected he was ill, but he was such a quiet person, and of course, wouldn't have shared with people he hardly knew. We enjoyed our encounters with him at the pool, in the hallway or elevator. Our sincere condolences to his children - who we also enjoyed when they were at the pool. - Posted by: Pat and Doug Sargeant (Neighbours at Kiltartan Towers) on: Mar 28, 2015
