• In the course of my duties I often met Joy in the nursery or Resus. room. From the moment I saw her I thought I knew her but we could never place it. I stupidly did not ever ask her last name nor her age. Last night I looked at some elementary school pictures I had just received and there we are, grade 2 John M. King school. How ironic and sad that it is too late to share a laugh at ourselves. Joy was one of the people I enjoyed seeing and sharing a story with. • It was a special day when I could work alongside with Joy in the nursery. I loved her special sense of humor and her contagious laugh. Although we often shared a laugh or two, she was very serious about the loving care she gave to her tiny, vulnerable patients. Although she could be blunt - always approaching matters straight on, she had a soft place in her heart for not only the babies she cared for, but also her family (whom she talked fondly about), her friends, and colleagues. • Joy and I spent some growing up years together and had plans to get together in spring. I am shocked and saddened to hear this sad news. My deepest condolences to Gaye, Wayne and family.
