MARGUERITE REUTNER (BAUER) February 2, 1927 - March 27, 2015 It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Maggie Reutner, devoted wife to Albert. Left to cherish her memories are her husband of 62 years, Albert, her son Alan and Loretta; daughter Diane and Louis; grandchildren Angeline (Punkin) and Geoff; Justin (Snoopy); and Meagan (Princess); one sister June, one sister-in-law Gloria, numerous relatives, friends and the many people whose hearts she touched. Daughter of Henry and Christina Bauer, Maggie was predeceased by her brothers Bill, Eddie and sister Ruth. Maggie was involved in baseball and acrobats as a child and loved proudly reminiscing of her sports. She began work at the young age of fourteen after leaving school to help out her parents working at Restmore Bedding. From there she learned to become a seamstress and book-keeping. Maggie met her husband later on and the two of them worked together forming a family business. Endlessly caring to the needs of her family and extending kindness to all who knew her, Maggie was a rare gem. She loved to cook for family and friends, eating finger-foods at showers, spending time at the cottage and in Cancun (their winter home). She also loved traveling, needle-work, doing the jumble and to shop til you drop! Maggie was a very independent lady who had very strong opinions and a great sense of humour. She also loved being an Omi to her grandchildren, they were the light of her life. Maggie always saw the bright side of life and lived life to the fullest. She had a knack of saying the right words and making you feel like you were the most important person in her life, and you were! We will miss your beautiful smile and kind words. Maggie's family would like to thank the amazing staff at HSC for their compassion and care of her during her final days. In lieu of flowers, if desired, donations may be made at CancerCare. Cremation has taken place. A private family burial will take place at a later date. A Celebration Of Life will be held on Thursday, April 2, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenlawn.ca Glen Lawn Funeral Home 204-982-7550
