Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryKATHLEEN (KAY) LONDON It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Kay London on Wednesday, April 1, 2015. Mom was born on May 28, 1928 in Plum Coulee, Manitoba. She spent her childhood there and in her teens the family moved to Hill Street in Winnipeg. It was during this time she met the love of her life, Bill London, and they were wed in 1947. Mom and Dad settled in Transcona where they raised their family. Many adventures ensued as they loved to camp and travel. They were constant companions and soulmates until Dad passed in 2005. Mom missed him every single day. Mom always put everyone else's needs before her own but with her family's blessing and encouragement she went back to school at the age of 44 to pursue her lifelong dream of becoming a nurse. She graduated from St. Boniface LPN School of Nursing in August of 1974 and worked at St. Boniface on 5A medicine until her retirement 15 years later. Mom was a woman of deep faith who was a very active member of her parish and for a number of years served on the executive of Women's Aglow. From singing in the choir to being a part of the visitation ministry, Mom shared her faith. She loved to sing and cherished the friendships she made, especially with her singing group the Saints and Sinners. Family meant everything to Mom. She was not just our mother, she was our friend and role model. She had a way of making everyone she met special and loved. When you were with Mom you were home, safe and embraced by her love and faith. That is the legacy Mom left us, to love unconditionally, to help where you can and to live a life of faith. She was a truly remarkable lady and will be missed every single day. Left to cherish Mom's memory are her children Diane, Darlene, Tim, Brenda, Laureen and their families, her sister Barb, brother Joe, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. A celebration of Mom's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, April 6, 2015 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice or in memory of Mom please do an act of love and kindness every day. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenlawn.ca Glen Lawn Funeral Home 204-982-7550

I worked with Kay on 5A from 1981 until she retired. She was a wonderful role model, kind and compassionate. We had a patient who was quite ill and wanted to hear the song "The Old Rugged Cross". Kay started to sing, she had a lovely voice, and what could I do but sing along? It was a long 12 hour night, and we must have sang that song a dozen times-the patient was peaceful and appreciative. Now, whenever I hear that song, I think of her and smile. She always told stories about her family on break, and I felt as if I knew each and every one of you, children and grandchildren. Her pride and love were evident! My deepest condolances. Janice - Posted by: Janice Dobson (coworker) on: Jun 08, 2015

Kay was a lovely woman and nurse and she took time to talk to her patients and friends. She was jovial and a joy and privilege to work with and to know. Her family is like her at least Brenda is. A joy to know. Kay you are now in your heavenly home and singing with the choir of angels this Easter Season. We will meet again. God will let you Rest in Peace. - Posted by: Renate ( Lohr - Schjerning _ Wolfe ) Gardy (friend of Brenda and Kay and Work colleague) on: Apr 04, 2015

I know Kay from Blessed Sacrament choir. I sat beside her for many years singing together. She was so special to me and we had so many laughs, especially when she was on the wrong page, we chuckled about that. She always said special prayers for my son who needed them, so was a woman of deep faith and I cherish the moments I spent with Kay. I will miss our phone calls, but I did have a lovely conversation with her the last time I spoke, so will always remember that. I love you Kay and will never forget you.
