WILLIAM (BILL) ALFRED POPOVITS Bill passed away peacefully, surrounded by family on April 2, 2015 at the Victoria General Hospital in Winnipeg. Cherishing his memories is his beloved wife Lola (neƩ Lueder). Also missing him are his greatest pride and joy, his children - Clive, Geoffrey (Lorie), Maren (Rick), Stephen (Elaine) and Brian; his grandchildren - Adam, Samantha (Alex), Shannon (Evan), Michelle (Travis), Matthew (Candice), Tawnee, Taylor and Tegan; and his great-grandchildren, Tawni, Denver, Ethan, Korie and Wyatt. He was predeceased by daughter-in-law Pam. Bill was born in Calcutta, India, October 1, 1930, and spent his early years there. After, he was on the high seas as a merchant marine and then resided in England honing his mechanical skills. He finally settled in Manitoba in 1965, where he worked for Manitoba Hydro until his retirement in 1991. Bill and Lola enjoyed travelling around the world, and especially Europe with Jutta and Heinz. They also enjoyed puttering around in their yard and taking long walks. All who knew Bill will remember his love of soccer, that he was a "Collector of Things" and never having met a stranger. A memorial service will be held at the Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd., Winnipeg, MB at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 15, 2015. A public viewing will be held there from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 14, 2015. A private interment will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer Society of Manitoba will be greatly appreciated. "I DID IT MY WAY"
