Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLORENA ROSE RAMSAY December 27, 1933 - March 11, 2015 With deepest sorrow we announce the passing of our beloved Lorena - mother, friend and mentor. Predeceased by first husband Donald Alan Ramsay in 1977 and second husband William Jacob Schmidt in 2015. Left to mourn is a large extended family of children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, friends and colleagues. Lorena was always quick to turn new friends into members of her family. Born and raised in Esterhazy, SK, Lorena moved to Winnipeg, MB in 1953 to marry Donald and raise three children. After Donald's death, she and William married and started a new blended family. They moved to Denman Island, BC in 1985. In 1986 they moved to Union Bay, BC to operate The Highwayman, where Lorena continued to make many more friends and was a big supporter in her community. She will always be truly and deeply missed by all. A celebration of life will be held at the Union Bay Community Club on Sunday, April 12, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. A second private memorial will be held in Winnipeg at a later date. Donations to the Canadian Lung Association or the Heart and Stroke Foundation in Lorena's name will be gratefully accepted in lieu of flowers.
