Being a fellow police officer, I met Doug through a good friend in Ste. Anne. He always struck me as a strong, knowledgeable and able person, something I was robbed of near the end of my career. Doug was aware of this and never passed judgement on me and always considered and respected me as part of the Blue Wall. I'll never forget him for that and only wish I had been able to get to know him better. Really, I didn't have to, I know the kind of person he was, I just wish I could have spent more time with him. Believe me, I understand suffering and Doug's is done, rest in peace my friend. - Posted by: Tim Turner (friend) on: May 07, 2015

It is with great saddnes that Cathy and I learned of Doug's passing. We spoke this past fall to Doug and did not realize the extent of his illness. I think I can speak on behalf of many of our Sioux Narrows residents and give our sincere sympathies to Debbie and all the family. Doug you will be missed more than words can say. You were a co-worker that became a good friend. You were had a special talent for knowing people and helping them in whatever situation. Your knowledge of policing was above reproach. Have a safe journey my friend - Posted by: randy (friend & co-worker) on: May 06, 2015

So sorry to hear of Doug's passing, my heartfelt condolences to his family. I believe it was in grade 7 or 8 when I first met Doug and liked him immediately. He was everybody's friend, even if you had very few other friends, you could always count on Doug as a friend. Many great memories of curling, fishing, hunting, partying, and road trips with Doug and of course Wayne. Going to miss his quick wit and sense of humor. Goodbye Doug, rest in peace old friend. - Posted by: Barry Larence (friend) on: May 06, 2015
