RONALD JOHN SCOTT September 16, 1938 - May 19, 2015 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our father, grandfather and friend Ron Scott who passed away at the Grace Hospice on Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at the age of 76 years. Dad was predeceased by his beloved wife and soul mate Carol. Dad is lovingly remembered by children Leanne (Denis) Tsai, Paul (Adrie), Jodi Lambert and Gary (Rachelle Ross) and grandchildren Cassandra, Mitchell, Rebecca, Jessica, Jacob, Iain and Owen. Dad will also be greatly missed by his brothers Joe (Pat), Barry, Rob (Judy Anne), John (Diana) and their families, as well as Doug, Linda and Kelly Davidson and the many friends whose lives he touched along the way. Dad was born in Souris, Manitoba and moved to Winnipeg at a young age. He attended the University of Manitoba where he obtained his Bachelor of Arts, Bachelor of Social Work and Master of Social Work degrees. Dad had a long career in social work with Children's Home of Winnipeg, Children's Aid Society of Winnipeg and Manitoba Child and Family Services, finally retiring in 2000. Dad loved to "putter" around the cottage at Brereton Lake. He taught us how to fish, water ski, canoe and enjoy the outdoors. Once retired, Dad spent numerous hours perfecting his wood working, stained glass and furniture making skills, resulting in beautiful keepsakes for his family and friends. Dad also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren and cheering them on at their sporting and school events. He was very proud of all their accomplishments. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., Monday, May 25, 2015 at St. Bernadette Parish, 820 Cottonwood Road. Interment will follow at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. We would like to thank the staff at Grace Hospice for taking wonderful care of our Dad. In lieu of flowers, donations to Grace Hospice c/o Grace Foundation, 300 Booth Drive, Winnipeg, MB, R3J 3M7 may be made in memory of Dad. Family and friends may sign a book of condolence at www.glenlawn.ca Glen Lawn Funeral Home 982-7550
