Maureen was a longtime friend who I greatly admired. We met in 1960 when we were both experienceing personal life changes. We explored our ambitions, our strengths and weaknesses, shared personal experiences, confidences, and many good times. Cultural activities, travel and fun and food were part of both our lives. Maureen did visit me in BC in the '60's. My last visit with her was September 2014. Unfortunately she was not able to enjoy her usual treat...a Sals nip, chips and shake. But she did want me to recount my recent travel anecdotes (she had received postcards from some of my adventure travel). I will miss this bright, strong, determined woman who I cherished as a friend. - Posted by: Rita Taylor ( Longtime friend) on: May 30, 2015

I've known Maureen since 1976, when she wheeled into my office at the U of Manitoba. She was ready for the challenge and adventure of taking some university courses. She navigated her life with determination, humour, and dignity. She liked to think that she did the best she could with what she had been given. She was my dear friend, a soul-mate. Our favorite times were spent driving around the city or to locations within a day's drive. We would always include a lunch or supper stop -- Kelekis or the Half Moon, or just a nice picnic spot to have a homemade egg salad sandwich. We laughed at the same things and enjoyed finding beauty in odd places. I will miss her but I know that the last few years have been very difficult for her and she is with Our Lord. I am deeply blessed to have had her in my life. - Posted by: Brenda Miller (Friend) on: May 28, 2015

I have treasured Maureen as a friend since Junior High in the North End of Winnipeg. We had many visits at her home on Scotia Avenue when she lived there with her parents. We have kept in touch all these years. (65 or more). We exchanged birthday and Christmas cards and Maureen visited me in Victoria years ago. She was always interested in my family and we talked on the phone now and then. I have admired Maureen all these years for the grace and dignity she showed in accepting her health issues. I will miss her very much. Sincere sympathy to Sheila and the other family members, nieces and nephews. - Posted by: Cora Thomson (ne Bethel) (lifetime friend) on: May 26, 2015

I met Maureen O'Sullivan quite a few years ago at St.Bernadette R.C. Church. I would visit her at her apartment now and then and she would tell me how much she loved when Fr.Ray Baudry came to visit her. He was very kind to her and she appreciated his visits. I haven't seen her in years and I want to express my condolences to her family and to say it was a pleasure to know her. May she rest in peace. God's Blessings Carole S. - Posted by: Maureen O'Sullivan (Friend from church) on: May 26, 2015
