Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROBERT BROOK TAYLOR Peacefully, on Saturday, May 23, 2015, Robert Brook Taylor passed away at 95 years of age. Bob is survived by Rose, his loving wife of 64 years; son Richard Taylor; daughter Glenice Naiman (Adam) along with grandchildren Taylor, Trevor, and Darra; daughter Tricia Bowers along with grandchildren Brendan, Mark and Megan Perron (Rene), great-granddaughter Hazel; daughter Brenda Ritsema (Ed) along with grandchildren Robert, Garret, and Bryan; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by parents Agnes and Arthur Taylor, brothers Richard and Arthur, sisters Grace Amos, Effie Gammon, Mildred Lappage and son-in-law and friend Jeff Bowers. Bob was born April 27, 1920 in the CPR Station, Waskada, Manitoba where his father was the station agent. He grew up and was educated in Dryden, Ontario. Early in his teen years he began his lifelong career at CP Telecom starting as a telegraph messenger. Bob attended Northwestern University in London, Ontario studying Engineering. At 21 years of age he enlisted in the Royal Canadian Air Force as Corporal, General Service where he served until 1946. In 1951 he married his soulmate Rose. They resided in Dryden, Thunder Bay and finally Winnipeg. He continued on with an amazing career at CP Telecommunications, retiring in 1980 as Superintendent of Plant Extensions. Along with his life companion Rose, Bob enjoyed curling, golf and numerous gatherings with his bridge club friends. Together they travelled every year to many warm weather destinations. He loved his cottage life at Black Sturgeon Lake, which began as a retirement project and ended up being a beautiful lakefront cottage where many great family gatherings took place. Most importantly, Dad was a great family man. He was our centre. He will be forever missed. A private family service was held. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of one's choice. I worked in the same CPT office in Winnipeg and remember Mr. Taylor as a strong, mild mannered, dedicated gentleman who was a pleasure to work for and with being Asst.
