Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryGIOVANNI CIULLA August 28, 1938 - May 28, 2015 It is with great sadness that we say farewell to our adored father, Nonno and husband, Giovanni Ciulla. After a courageous battle with cancer, with his family by his side, Dad passed away peacefully at the age of 76. Giovanni was predeceased by his parents Santo and Carmela, brothers Liborio and Filippo (Giuseppina), sister Franca (Liborio), and brothers-in-law Filippo Guarnaccia and Filippo Monica. He leaves to mourn his wife Francesca, children Carmela Isliefson (Gary), Rosa Colatruglio and Santo (Suzanne), grandchildren Johnny, Marc, Kristina, Matthew, Symantha and Gio, brothers Giuseppe (Maria) and Vincenzo (Maria), sisters Sarina and Borina, sister-in-law Concetta Ciulla, and numerous nieces, nephews, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law and friends both in Italy and Winnipeg. Dad was born in Pietraperzia, Sicily and grew up working on the family farm. He immigrated to Winnipeg in 1964, married in 1965 and worked as a meat cutter for many years at Burns Meats. His family was the most important thing in his life. A day did not pass that he didn't call to see how we were all doing. Dad had a great love of animals, especially for his dog "Rocky". He also enjoyed fishing, hunting and gardening. Dad loved spending time at his summer cottage in Winnipeg Beach with family and friends, sharing a meal from his garden and a glass of his homemade wine. He was a very hardworking, kind and generous man to all who knew him. Dad was a gentle soul with a quiet sense of humor that was evident even in his final days and he will be dearly missed. The family would like to express our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to all of the caring staff in 3E at Riverview Health Centre. Mass of Resurrection will be celebrated at Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church, 510 River Ave. on Friday, June 5, 2015 at 11:00 a.m., viewing and condolences are one hour prior to the Mass. In lieu of flowers, if friends and family so desire, contributions may be made to CancerCare Manitoba. As long as we live, we'll always be glad that we were your children and you were our Dad. We love you Dad/Nonno and miss you so. God be with you till we meet again.
