WILHELM (BILL) BORN With family by his side, Bill passed away at Victoria Hospital Saturday morning, June 13, 2015 at the age of 84. Bill's last few breaths had an angelic tone personifying his love for music. His memory will be cherished by his wife, Mary, children: Brian (Bev), Darlene Woolley, Gerry, Brenda, and Jim, grandchildren: Andrea Woolley, George (Tiffany) Woolley, Brandon Born and Brittany Born, and great-grandchild, Lia Woolley. He is survived by his brother, George, sisters: Tina and Elsie, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. In 1951 he married Mary, and Bill was a devoted, loving husband and father who enjoyed simple pleasures of family, fellowship, faith, choir, community, song, music and golf. Bill was part of a quartet for many years providing music and song to celebrate special events at senior homes and various venues. His passion for gardening and landscaping was evident throughout his life. At the age of 59, Bill retired from 35 years of service with Petro Canada and was baptized that same year. Bill shall be fondly remembered for his dry and witty sense of humour, often seen embracing laughter full-heartedly. Always the gentleman, even when bed ridden, Bill would greet everyone with a handshake and a smile. Bill's generous heart was known to those whom shared time with him. We'll miss him dearly. A memorial service will be held on Thursday, June 18 at 11:00 a.m. at Morrow Gospel Church, 755 St. Anne's Road, Winnipeg, Manitoba. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to the staff at Victoria Hospital 4th Floor for their kindness and compassion during Bill's last few months. If people so desire, donations may be made in memory of Bill Born to Morrow Gospel Church or Victoria General Hospital Foundation - "Darlene Williams' Comfort Room", 2340 Pembina Hwy., Winnipeg, MB R3T 2E8, or go to www.thevicfoundaton.ca.
