Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryEDITH NORMA MCCAFFREY (nee PULLEN) December 22, 1927 - June 24, 2015 After a brief illness, Edith McCaffrey passed away at the Victoria General Hospital. Ede was born in Minnedosa, Manitoba and was predeceased by her parents Arthur and Ada Pullen, and two siblings Leslie and Kay. After high school Edith moved to Winnipeg to complete business college and worked for the CBC. In 1952, Gordon and Ede were married in Winnipeg where they made their home for 62 years. It was here that Ede embraced her defining role; that of wife, friend, mother and grannie. Gordon and Edith have three children: Don, Trevor and Patti, and son-in-law Scott Greer. Ede is also survived by five grandchildren: Wyatt, Thane, Spencer, Morgan and Ella; brother-in-law Roy McCaffrey and wife Florence, along with many nieces and nephews here in Winnipeg and around the country. Edith was a very social person often hosting family and friends at her home in St. Vital. She was an accomplished cook, dance partner, card player and in her younger days, an athlete. She was the mainstay at many events. Ede was a beautiful woman, a good friend, a beloved wife, mother and grannie and considered by all as fun loving. Ede's funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. A private family interment will take place at St. Vital Cemetery prior to the service. Flowers are graciously and gratefully declined. For those that wish, donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
