JEANNE PRISCILLA PICKARD (nee GOULET) With profound sadness the family announces the passing of Jeanne Pickard Monday, June 22, 2015 at the Victoria Hospital. Jeanne was predeceased by her husband Allan; by her sisters Lucie, Agnes and Denyse; son-in-law Allan; and her great-granddaughter Grace. She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Kathleen (Larry) Rehaluk, Allanna Pickard and Denise Pickard; her grandchildren, Tanya, Mark, Timothy, Amy, and Avril, great-grandson Connor; and sisters Giselle Bates and Artha Anderson. Jeanne was born in Lorette, Manitoba on January 28, 1928. She grew up in Lorette. While working on a farm in Ile des Chenes she met the love of her life, Allan. They were married on July 30, 1949 in Lorette and settled in Winnipeg. In the early years Jeanne loved her garden where she grew her flowers and vegetables. Jeanne always enjoyed her crafts and was known for welcoming new babies into the family with lace shawls. She kept her family warm in winter with knitted sweaters, hats and mitts. As her family grew up she donated her crafts through her membership in the C.W.L. Jeanne was always enthusiastic about Red River Valley history and took pride in descending from the early settlers Jean Baptiste Lagimodiere and his wife May Anne Gaboury. Prayers will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, June 29, 2015 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Funeral mass will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30, 2015 at St. Vital Parish, 1629 Pembina Hwy. Special thanks to the nursing staff on the fourth floor at Victoria Hospital and to the staff at Simkin Centre for the wonderful care she received. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jeanne's memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 6 Donald Street, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3L 0K6. • I remember Jean fondly over the years when she was a member of the CWL at Mary, Mother of the Church. She was always generous with her gifts and talents. On many occasions I would pick up Jean and take her to the CWL meetings and drive her home afterward. May Our Lady of Good Counsel hold Jean in her heavenly embrace forever. - Posted by: Faith Anderson (CWL sister at Mary, Mother of the Church) on: Jun 30, 2015
