Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryENID ELIZABETH MARGARET MCRUER March 15, 1923 - June 27, 2015 In loving memory of Enid McRuer who rejoiced as she met her Gracious Heavenly Father face to face on June 27, 2015 at the age of 92. Enid was born in Kaiting (now Loshan), West China in 1923. Her parents were missionaries there and returned to Regina, SK when Enid was 2. Enid's desire was to return to China as a medical missionary. She graduated from the University of Manitoba Medical College in 1949 and married Bob McRuer that year. China was closed to missions so they went to Northern Rhodesia (now Zambia) in 1953 and worked at Mukinge Mission Hospital until 1965. They moved to Morden, MB in 1966 where Enid worked as a family physician at the Morden Medical Centre. She became the Medical Office of Health for the last 15 years of her career. She was a generous, vivacious woman with many talents and she eagerly shared her knowledge with others. She was a wonderful mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed by her daughters and their families, Karen and Mike Mason, Grace and Ed Van Dyck, Scott Van Dyck, Allison Van Dyck, and Heather and Sean Mills. She poured her love into her community, wherever she was in the world. She was predeceased by her husband, Bob McRuer, her parents, Wesley and Katie Adeline Morrison, and her siblings Adair, Helen, and Newell Morrison. The family wishes to thank the staff of Meadowood Manor for their loving care. A celebration of Enid's life will be held on Saturday, July 4, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at the Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd., Winnipeg. Interment will follow at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Faith's Orphan Fund (www.fofcanada.com) to provide education to orphans in Zambia. DR. Mcruer was indeed a lady meant to be a Dr.! She was so good to me as I was expecting my first, second and third baby! A true christian from the heart as I see her.
