RAYMOND ELMER DWORNICK After a courageous battle, Raymond Elmer Dwornick, 79, of Winnipeg, passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2015 at the St. Boniface Hospital, surrounded by his loving family. Ray was born in Meleb, Manitoba on April 26, 1936. After high school, Ray attended Normal School and received his Teaching Certificate. Ray's first job after Normal School was as a salesman for the T. Eaton Company, in the ladies department. Ray decided that ladies were not his career path and looked towards the automotive industry. He started with Wilson Auto Electric in the late 1950s. It was while working at Wilson's in 1958 that Ray met the love of his life, Doris, and they wed on September 13, 1958. With his new love at his side, Ray turned his attention to his future in the automotive industry. He focused on the concept of remanufacturing automotive parts; it was this focus that led Ray to leave Wilson's, and Autoline Products LTD was born. Over the years, Ray and his staff grew Autoline into one of the largest Canadian remanufacturing operations. Long after ownership of Autoline was passed on, it continues to sell products not only nationally, but internationally. Despite its expansive market area, Autoline had only one outside salesperson during Ray's tenure - Ray. Ray was predeceased by his father and mother, Frank and Stella Dwornick, and his sister Phyllis Jane. Ray is survived by his wife of 56 years, Doris Ela Dwornick, son Tim, daughter Marianne and husband Bob, daughter Nancy and husband Chris, and brother Bruce and wife Kathy. Come and celebrate Ray's life with family and friends at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The family extends their most sincere thanks to the Doctors, Nurses and Staff in Ward E-4 of the St. Boniface Hospital for the loving care that they provided to Ray during his final months; to the Nurses and Aides of Comforts of Home Care, Inc. for the wonderful care that was provided to Ray over the past year; and to the Staff of the Manitoba Regional Health Authority - especially Richard and Abu, who provided personal loving care to Ray in his home over the last several years. In lieu of flowers, a memorial gift may be sent to the Winnipeg Humane Society, 45 Hurst Way, Winnipeg, Manitoba R3T 0R3, Canada. Family and friends may sign a Book of Condolence at www.glenlawn.ca Glen Lawn Funeral Home 204-982-7550

The memories are good , the stories are many and long. Ray was an unforgettable character with a heart of gold. His sense of humour was historic in the automotive aftermarket where he worked for so many years. He will be missed.
