Condolences & Memories (4 entries)

  • I met Merv walking by my place at the lake, on his way to and from fishing . Always a smile even when he didn't catch anything to which he would say " looks like hamburgers again " he always made me laugh was a real salt of the earth guy and always happy . I didn't know him extremely well but it was my pleasure to have met him , he loved the lake and his family , even mentioned now that he was retired he was going to enjoy both to the maximum . R.i.p Merv you will be missed - Posted by: Rich Thom (Nieghbor at lake) on: Aug 06, 2015

  • I had the priviledge of knowing Merv at our former 510 Lag facility. He was always upbeat and so helpful. He will be missed. - Posted by: Birdena Lawrence (Co-worker) on: Jul 27, 2015

  • Merv was a great hard working man who loved his family and lived for them..He just retired and was looking forward to bbq'ing and fishing at his place at the lake which he was proud of...He was a great guy and will be missed....Our lives on earth are just part of our journey and Merv has continued on the final journey where he is at peace and will be joined in future by all who loved him. My deepest condolences to his daughters and their families....& even though I never met you, I know how much you meant to your father...& feel free to contact me if you wish... - Posted by: Joan Proteau (Friend) on: Jul 26, 2015

  • Merv worked in our Health Canada laboratory facility on Lagimodiere Boulevard in Winnipeg. Though he worked for a private contractor, he was one of us. We considered him a great friend and colleague. Merv was always, always in a good mood. He was quick with a smile and would ask everyone he saw, "How are you doing? Good?" Because of his infectious smile and attitude, there was no choice but to answer that we were. Merv was a huge Riders fan, and proudly wore his green despite being surrounded by many Bombers fans at work. He had plenty of jokes for everyone. He talked often of family and relaxing at his trailer - two things that were obviously very important to him. Merv, you will be missed by all your friends from 510 Lag. - Posted by: Gary Neumann (Co-worker/friend) on: Jul 26, 2015
