ANGEL DE DIOS With great sadness and heavy hearts we announce the passing of Angel de Dios on Sunday, August 30, 2015 at St. Boniface Hospital at the age of 67. Born on May 27, 1948 in the Philippines he was an only child to Jovita and Patricio de Dios. He served several years as an engineer in the merchant marines, circumnavigating the globe. Despite health issues in later life his passion for travel never wavered. He worked as a mechanic in Winnipeg and enjoyed fixing engines of all types. He also enjoyed gardening, cooking and spoiling his dog Onyx. Angel will be remembered by his beloved wife of nearly 40 years, Elvira. He is survived by their children Joyce (Shaun) Marchand, Jason and grandson Philippe-Olivier Marchand. He will be missed by his friends and family in Canada, the United States and the Philippines. Special thanks to the staff at St. Boniface Hospital. Lamay (Viewing) will be held Friday, September 4, 2015 and Saturday, September 5, between 7:00 p.m. and 12:00 a.m. midnight with prayers being said at 8:30 p.m. Saturday at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, September 8, 2015 at 10:00 a.m., St. Edward's Parish, 836 Arlington Street.
