Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryROZALIA PORADA (nee ZYGMUNT) May 18, 1923 - September 10, 2015 With sadness we announce the passing of Rose Porada on September 10, 2015 at Seven Oaks Hospital. Rose was born and lived a peaceful farm life in Poland with her four sisters and brother until the outbreak of the Second World War. At that time her younger brother was to be pressed into forced labour. To spare her parents the loss of their only son, Rose volunteered, and insisted strongly, that she take his place. The occupying force accepted this offer, and Rose was removed from her family and spent the rest of the war working in a dish factory. She did not see any of her family again. After the war she immigrated to Canada and worked in the residence for Practical Nurses at St. Boniface Hospital. She married her husband, Walter, in 1958 and spent many happy years on Matheson Ave. with him and her beloved son, Ted. Left to cherish Rose's memory are her son, Ted; her grandson, Robert, Robert's wife, Ashley; and great-granddaughter, Rachel Memorial service at Holy Ghost Church, 341 Pritchard Ave. on Wednesday, September 16, 2015 at 11:00 a.m.
