MILTON BRYAN POLLOCK May 29, 1929 - September 16, 2015 It is with great sorrow we announce the passing of Milton at the young age of 86. Mel was predeceased by his wife Norma, his son Brent, and son-in-law Nestor. Blessed with his memory are his three daughters Beverly (Les), Kathy, Kim (John) and his son Bryan (Carey), and all his grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends. One of Mel's priorities was to make sure his family was well fed every week with meat from Karpaty's, perogies from St. Ivan Suchavsky Cathedral church and coffee from Black Pearl. Mel would go through stages where he loved to cook things like bread, beef jerky, and garlic bread. He had a bookcase full of recipe books that he liked to share with everyone. Mel's second priority was Saturday night bingo, he loved playing bingo. Every winter Mel would travel to Vancouver, BC where he spent the winter with his daughter Beverly and her family. He would also visit Norma's sister, Georgina in Los Molinos, California. Beverly would like to thank Surrey Memorial Hospital, nurses and doctors for all the care and support they gave her. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mel's name to CancerCare Manitoba Funeral arrangements in care of ALTERNATIVES Funeral & Cremation 3070-275A Street Aldergrove, BC V4W 3L4 604-857-5779

Condolences & Memories (1 entries)

  • In memoriam of Uncle Mel and Auntie Norma-who passed away earlier this summer. The Pollocks helped my parents, who were "new Canadians," in adjusting to their new life and Canadian customs and laws. The Pollocks were family friends of ours. Our families went on numerous camping trips together and auntie Norma would bake pies using the berries we picked earlier in the day. For many years, the Pollocks had a standing reservation at my parents guest cottage. Auntie Norma would crochet and knit items for the cottages and Uncle Mel would help with repairs and general maintenance. I remember him having a cool spring in one hand and his pipe in the other hand. Mom and auntie Norma were bingo partners, playing at the cottage or Isaac Brock community centre or a church basement. I thank uncle Mel and auntie Norma on being such good friends to my parents, their friendship lasted for over fifty years. - Posted by: Milinkovic family () on: Sep 22, 2015
