LEAH BURGESS On Sunday, September 20, 2015 Leah passed into the hands of her Lord at 12:15 p.m.. She is now reunited with her parents, Arnold and Elsie Stubel. Leah was born in Rowne, Poland, February 11, 1933. She immigrated to Canada when she was five. She was the first child of Arnold and Elsie. Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 62 years Charles; her only child Sandra; son-in-law, Robert Ferens; grandchildren, Randy and Anthony; her brother Art Stubel (Marge); sister Ruth Walkden, and many nephews and nieces. Leah worked at Wiggins Systems where she met Charles at age 16, Merchant Consolidation, Simpson Sear's and later at Wicker and Purse Company. After retirement Leah and Charles enjoyed many trips with family and friends. Leah was a hard working devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She took great pleasure in caring for her parents, husband, child, grandchildren and friends. Leah always put her loved ones first. Family gatherings and holidays were very special to her. Leah spread her love and kindness to her Church friends, mall walker friends, and to her neighbours at South of the Border. She had a way of making everyone she met feel special and loved. She will be remembered for her fun loving personality, her positive attitude, her love for Christ, her generosity, her energy, and her joy of life. Leah lived to serve the Lord and her family. We would like to thank Dr. Sickert and all our friends and family who prayed for her during her struggle with cancer. Special thanks to CancerCare at St. Boniface Hospital and the Victoria Hospital ICU team. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Cancer Care or Victoria Hospital.
