DENNIS JAMES RAKOWSKI We are saddened to announce the passing of Dennis James Rakowski of Thunder Bay, ON on Sunday, September 20, 2015 at the age of 79 years. Born and raised in Winnipeg, MB he moved to Thunder Bay in 1967 and was a long time resident of Castlegreen Cooperative. Dennis was a lifetime member of the United Association of Plumbers and Pipefitters and worked on various industrial construction projects ranging from Timmins to Fort McMurray and north to the Arctic DEW Line. In retirement Dennis enjoyed shopping at various local supermarkets and stores and enjoyed chatting with people and sharing his humour with employees and other shoppers. As an avid sports fan, Dennis' favourite past time was following various sports teams and most recently the Toronto Blue Jays. He is survived by his spouse Claire Belisle, his sister Olivia (Bill) Williams (Don Mills) and his children James (Jamie) Rakowski, Lisa Robinson (Rakowski), Laura Rakowski, Ricky Burns, the mother of his children Mary Jean Robinson as well as their grandchildren Jesse Vantaa, Kyle Rakowski-Unruh and Sarah Rakowski-Unruh and numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents Stefan and Mary Rakowski (nee Rybak), his siblings John Rakowski, Stephanie Trager, Myron (Kongo) Rakowski, Joe Kelly and Harry Rakowski. Cremation has taken place and arrangements for a wake are pending.
