WILLIAM (BILL) FRANK MALTMAN Peacefully with his family by his side William Frank Maltman passed away at the Concordia Hospital on September 22, 2015 at 83 years of age. Predeceased by his parents Alex and Doris Maltman. Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife Doreen of 62 years, son Bill and wife Marilyn, grandson Dwayne and partner Michelle, great-grandchildren Keith, Hailey, Ava and Olivia, grandson Elias and granddaughter Kasina. Daughter Brenda and husband Randy Welburn, grandson Rob and wife Lisa, great-grandson Cameron and great-granddaughter Bella, grandson Chris and wife Jessica and great-granddaughter Grace. Sisters-in-law Marj Gould and Helen Butler. Dad worked for the T. Eaton Company as an Electrician from 1950 till 1986 when he took an early retirement due to health issues. He still talked about his days at Eaton's and his fellow coworkers. He was a member of the No. 1 Legion for over 40 years. In 1994 Mom and Dad retired out to Paradise Village and enjoyed retired life. Dad became involved in volunteering at Paradise, painting and putting up the new street signs with Ted Barnes. For five years Mom and Dad organized the residents for the annual Christmas Cheer hampers and toy drive for the Richer food bank. Dad loved to play golf and putter outside, they traveled south in winter and trips out West to visit family and friends. His wood and golf ball carvings have become family treasures. Dad and Mom loved retired life and living in Paradise. He loved to be involved in family renovations and was never too busy to offer guidance or lend a hand. Dad said that he was a lucky man to have danced at his grandsons wedding and lived long enough to become great papa. Our family will miss his sense of humor, laugh and his words of wisdom. A celebration of life will take place at 2:00 p.m. Friday, October 16, 2015 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Boulevard. Our family would like to thank the staff at Concordia Hospital third floor for their exceptional care of dad during his last days. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations can be made in Bill's memory to the Winnipeg Humane Society or a charity of one's choice.
