OLIVE JESSIE GOTHARD (nee OSBORNE) With sadness the family announces the peaceful passing of Jessie Gothard on October 8, 2015 at 89 years of age. Jessie grew up in the Weston area and attended Cecil Rhodes School and Angus College. She worked for Stratton Whitaker Ltd. in general insurance for over 10 years. In 1949 she married the love of her life, Dennis Gothard. They lived in Transcona for most of their married life and celebrated 53 years together. She was a devoted wife and mother. Jessie's passions were the family cottage at Whytewold Beach where she spent over 50 enjoyable summers, reading and spending time with her grandson, Tyson. Jessie was predeceased by her husband, Dennis in 2002; her only son, Donald in 2000; her brother, Larry in 2013; sister-in-law Marion in 2014 and her parents, Olive and Frank Osborne. She is survived by her grandson Tyson Gothard; her daughter-in-law Janice (Neil) Williams; step-granddaughters Katherine and Mairi Williams, all of Halifax, N.S. and niece Barbara Osborne of Kelowna, B.C. The family would like to thank the staff of River East Personal Care Home for their care and compassion since she moved there in 2008. Memorial Service will take place on October 14, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Glen Lawn Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Cremation has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Manitoba, 200-6 Donald Street, Wpg., R3L 0K6 or to a charity of your choice.
