DANIEL STARR January 4,1968 - October 27,2015 It is with heavy hearts the family announces the unexpected passing of Daniel Starr, Sr. born January 4, 1968 in Pine Falls, MB. Daniel is survived by his wife of 27 years Barb Starr, son Daniel Starr (Tanay Little), son Shane Pelletier, grandchildren Kashtin, Alice, Samantha, and Danny and fatherly role model to Vince and Kyle. Daniel was a people person, friendly and easy to get along with. Everywhere he went he was sure to make a friend. Some would agree he was quite the comedian and quick with a joke. At times you would have to watch what you say cause his comebacks and comments were quick and would have everyone laughing. Family was important to Daniel. He loved everyone very much and being together for all occasions was a must. Even if other things were happening he would make sure to make an appearance, whether it be family dinners, birthday parties, or good ol' fishing with the boys. Left to cherish his memory are his mother Marjorie Starr, siblings Miriam (Joe), Ruby, Shannon, Patrick (Tanya); his three godchildren Phil Starr, Tanya Pierson, and Carlee Starr; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends; long time friends Les Trupp, Jeff Hyrnchuk, and Jim (Jaws). Predeceased by his father Danny Starr, brother Vincent Guimond, brother-in-law Rick Pierson, grandparents Boniface and Elizabeth Guimond, in-laws Ernest and Alice Houston, Gabe Gerard (choom), cousin/best friend Darrell Fontaine, great-grandma Caroline Starr and other family members. Pallbearers Billy Pierson, Steven Daniels-Webb, Kyle Houston, Jeremy Thomas, Aidan Starr, and Brennan Starr. A wake will be held at Saint Alexander Roman Catholic Church, Sagkeeng First Nations from 7:00 to 10:00 p.m. Sunday, November 1, 2015. The wake will continue on Monday, November 2 from 6:00 p.m. to midnight at the Saint Gerard's Roman Catholic Church, 45 Foster Ave., Winnipeg, Manitoba. Daniel's funeral service will be Tuesday, November 3, at 2:00 p.m., also in the Saint Gerard's Roman Catholic Church, with Father Greg Mulligan officiating. Cremation will follow with a private interment at a later date. Arrangements entrusted to: Rock Fontaine Funeral Director Honour Respect Dignity Winnipeg (204) 223-2576 toll-free dial 1-866-499-2601

  • I didn't spend as much time with Daniel as I could have... What I do know is how happy he made Barb and what a great husband and father he was.. On the few times we did spend together, he was the most polite, respectful, funny, and giving person that I have ever met... Fly high with the eagles as they bring you home to your Dad and brother, parent In-laws,grandparents Boniface and Elizabeth and friends who I am sure who will be waiting to greet you with open, loving arms....Barb, if you ever need to talk or someone to have coffee with, please contact me whenever you need to... My deepest condolences and love, sending prayers out to all the family and friends.. - Posted by: Wilma Houston (Cousin-in-law) on: Nov 16, 2015

  • Condolences to Dan's wife Barb, son Dan, mother Marjorie and to the entire family. Dan and I weren't the closest of bro-in-laws but we had our moments. There were a few times that I'd be biking by the home and he'd be perched on the stoop, having a bud and watching the neighborhood. I'd stop by and he'd offer me a bud/smoke and we'd just have a few minutes together to just chat about life, our families or just whatever. He was hilarious, genuine and a good man.He will be missed but never forgotten. Rest In Peace Dan. - Posted by: Chris Thomas (Brother in law) on: Nov 02, 2015
