MAXIMA C. MONTE January 4, 1920 - November 6, 2015 It is with sadness that the family announces the passing of Maxima C. Monte. Maxima, age 95, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 6, 2015 at Health Sciences Centre. Maxima, also known as "Simang" or "Apong Simang", was born in Barraca, Villasis, Pangasinam, Philippines and immigrated to Winnipeg, Canada in 1982. Maxima is predeceased by her husband Argio, daughter, Glorina, and son Leandro. Left to cherish her memories are her two daughters Cristeta and Ligaya; sons Donato and Nemesio (Leonora); grandchildren Romeo (Geraldine), Henry (Chamie), Larry, Gilbert (Jocelyn), Darwin (Theresa), William (Karla), Michael, Christopher, Mary Grace, Edison (Janice), Donato Jr. (Rowena), Jannette (Bong), Orlando and Ricky; and 27 great-grandchildren. Maxima was very loving and thoughtful to everyone. She was very fun to be with and made everyone laugh by her silly jokes. She loved spending time with her family, relatives and friends through gatherings. She enjoyed the outdoors, watching shows, and watching T.V. We would like to thank the nurses, doctors, and healthcare aids who provided care during her stay at the Health Sciences Centre. Lamay (viewing) will be held at 7:00 p.m. to midnight on Friday, November 20, 2015 at Glen Lawn Funeral Home, 455 Lagimodiere Blvd. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at St. Edward Church, 836 Arlington Street.
