Send Flowers to the Family Offer Condolences or MemoryLOTTIE ZENA ROSENSTOCK On Tuesday, November 10, 2015, at 92 years of age, Lottie Rosenstock passed away peacefully. Born January 10, 1923, Lottie lived a long and productive life. Predeceased by Joey, her loving husband of 52 years, as well as her parents Morris and Jenny Lentz; Lottie is survived by her children Sheldon (Lynda) and Ted (Doris); grandchildren Hayley (Adam), Michelle, Mauri, Jared (Leah), and Noah; sister and brother-in-law Ruth and Lou Billinkoff; her nephews and great-nephews and great-niece in Winnipeg with whom she was very close; and her nephews and niece in Israel, San Francisco, and Phoenix. Besides being a mother, homemaker, and volunteer in the early part of her marriage, she went back to school to become a teacher, and had a satisfying career as an elementary school educator. She played a good game of bridge up to the end, and was a wonderful cook and baker. Her many volunteer activities included many years with Hadassah Wizo, in which she rose to be President of her chapter. In her late 70s, she became a hospital volunteer at the Victoria and Misericordia Hospitals, and continued until two years ago. Lottie endured several health issues in her final years, and showed great courage under fire, while rallying back and accepting her gradual losses. She was ever appreciative of the wonderful home care from Hermalyn, Melanie, Elizabeth, and Cora that allowed her to remain in her condo. Lottie believed quality of life was the only measure of living, and she lived life to the fullest. She was bright and determined, caring and giving, pragmatic and opinionated. She was passionate about the opening of the Museum of Human Rights in Winnipeg, and insisted on visiting it as soon as it opened. Funeral services took place at Congregation Shaarey Zedek on Thursday, November 12 with interment at the Shaarey Zedek Cemetery. Pallbearers were her grandsons, nephews, and great-nephews. Memorial contributions may be made to the Canadian Human Rights Museum, Jewish Foundation of Manitoba (Joseph and Lottie Rosenstock Fund), or the charity of one's choice.

Lottie, like her husband Joey, both lived long and productive lives, right up until their final moments. Both were strong characters and role models, and this is reflected in their children and grandchildren. - Posted by: shelly and fran meyers (brother/sister-in-law) on: Nov 23, 2015
