WILLIAM MOSIONIER March 5, 1936 - November 17, 2015 A good mystery novel, perhaps a little Billie Holiday or Joan Baez playing in the background, with a slice of cinnamon toast and a glass of milk by his side (with ice), those were some of the moments that Willy loved the most. He was a voracious reader, lover of music, a history buff and always there when you needed him. Willy was an extraordinarily good listener and was always interested in what you had to say, gently inquiring and demonstrating a great appreciation of other people's life experiences. His wisdom and integrity inspired great respect and affection. Willy was the Patriarch of the family and will be greatly missed by Wayne (Carol) Mosionier, Larry Mosionier, Ron (Marilyn) Mosionier, Rene (Denise) Connell, Linda (Al) Leray, good friend Catalina Mosionier and many other family and friends. We hope there is a heaven because if there is he will be overjoyed to meet up again with Laura his mom, Raymond his Dad, his sister Lorraine who was his childhood companion and his grandnephew Cory who he was like a grandfather to. Willy did not want a service but we will be arranging a "Celebration of his Life" at a later date. In the meantime everyone who remembers him is asked to celebrate Willy's life in their own way, raising a glass of red wine in his memory would be quite appropriate. My sincere condolences to Rene, Linda and the entire Mosionier family. Losing a great man like Willy is sure to be a great blow to any family. I remember "Uncle Willy" fondly and will never forget his gentle nature, kindness and generosity. His values were passed on to the finest family I have ever had the pleasure to know. I often remember the family home on Austin and later, Logan Ave., and the many good time times on Austin St. Raymond sharpening Rene's skates at the hall, borrowing us the lawnmower to make some summer money with, giving us work at the hall, teaching us how to do things right and Laura teasing me, giving us snacks, going into her "states" on the rocker in order to keep Rene in line. They were were always so good to me. Their children could not have had better parents. From early on in friendship with Rene, working at the hall, to social gatherings, Willy was always there with great advice. At home he most always had book in hand but always had time for a question and a well-reasoned answer. His generosity was never more evident than when he would let Rene borrow the Jag for us to cruise around in, taking Rene up in his plane and teaching Rene to fly. Ron of Purple Hair Streak fame would get us out of jams when we couldn't handle it ourselves and follow Willy's lead and borrow us the Mustang or one hot car or another. Larry always on the go but still enough time for a cheerful hello, Wayne driving us to the beach and back in the purple Duster and the best looking guy at any gathering. I never have seen another family own such hot cars. Willy spoiling Rene and Linda at Christmas and later the perfect Grampa to Cory. I have and will always cherish the amazing, great memories. A finer patriarch, a family could not want a finer family I have never known. My condolences to all. Thank you Willy, R.I.P. - Posted by: C. Peter Davis (friend) on: Nov 21, 2015
