BERNICE CAROLINE POOLE (MCPHERSON) April 25, 1928 - November 17, 2015 With family by her side, Bernice Caroline Poole passed away peacefully at Victoria Hospital on Tuesday, November 17, 2015. Bernice was predeceased by her husband and love of her life, Robert Poole. Bernice will be sadly missed by her children, Linda (Darcy), Bob (Derryl) and Debbie (Murray); her grandchildren Roberta (Jayson), Kevin (Vanessa), Kelly (Mike), Angela (Chris), Aaron, Matthew, Chelsea, Chris (Donna) and Thomas (Christine). Also left to mourn are her nine great-grandchildren, as well as many close friends and relatives. Bernice worked for 30 years at Winnipeg Supply and 10 years at the Christmas Cheer Board in her later years. She spent many great summers with her husband and family out at their cabin in Albert Beach. Bernice was well known for her amazing personality and sense of humour. She enjoyed golfing, bowling, playing cards and most of all a good glass of red wine. The family would like to thank the staff at Harmony Court (Riverwood Square) and the Victoria Hospital (5th floor staff) for the time and devotion they gave to our mother and grandmother. In keeping with Bernice's wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of life will be held at The Royal Canadian Legion, 3900 De Vries Ave, East St. Paul, MB from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, November 24. In lieu of flowers donations are appreciated to the charity of your choice.

Condolences & Memories (11 entries)

  • I don't remember ever meeting Bernice but I heard her name many times. Her husband, Robert, was 1st cousin to my Dad, Bill. Dad's parents were Bert and Agnes Poole and they had Lily, Bill and Ted. Bert also had a sister Lily Brewer who would be Robert's aunt. My condolences to all of you. - Posted by: Rae Poole Reid (2nd cousin once removed of her husband) on: Dec 10, 2015

  • Bee, I was saddened to read of your passing. I have fond memories of your great sense of humour (you needed it to put up with some of my antics). Say Hi to Mr. Poole for me. Rest in peace Bee. - Posted by: Bill Hughes (friend) on: Nov 22, 2015

  • The Matriarch of Winnipeg Supply, Bernice was a great boss and truly had the respect of all those that worked with & for her. She had a wonderful sense of humour. It was fun to tease her and shock her with our antics if we could and she could dish it out just the same, putting us in place if need be. A sharp dresser, hair & make-up always perfect, and always had the quickest come-backs. It was hard to pull one over on her. We will miss her at our Winnipeg Supply Girls annual get-togethers. Rest in peace "B" . - Posted by: Elaine Lawson (Friend & co-worker) on: Nov 22, 2015
