She is survived by many loved ones including her spouse, Sam Stedman; son Ransom Frost Butler-Stedman; parents, Sheila and Jack Butler; sister Emily Butler, and best friend Audrey Mendella. Friends may celebrate her life from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 28, in Toronto. Contact Audrey (audmendella@me.com) for details. In lieu of flowers, donations to Rethink Breast Cancer or the Canadian Breast Cancer Support Fund would be appreciated.

I remember walking in to convocation hall at university of Winnipeg and being very nervous. But a young T.A. there asked me my name, told me I was in the right place and to have a seat, everything was OK. Alexis was one of the most fantastic actors i ever had the privilege of watching, but it was her kindness I remember most. I emailed her a few years ago to say hi and she totally remembered me! We laughed about a few crazies who were in our class and exchanged updates about our time in the media. I can truly say I will never forget her. She definitely improved my life. Heartfelt sorry to hear that Alexis has passed. My son Jason played with Alexis as a child and we remember her artistic parents and wonderful dog Mister!
